The team behind Jose Cuervo have combined the ingredients of the classic Margherita pizza with those of a Margarita cocktail.
The boozy creation, which has been dubbed the Margarita Margherita, features pizza dough fermented in Jose Cuervo tequila for over 24-hours as well as a tomato sauce marinated in triple sec, salt, garlic and Jose Cuervo tequila.
The world’s oldest tequila brand are offering foodies in Glasgow the chance to order the unique pizza, which even comes with a complimentary special edition pizza-inspired Margarita cocktail, for the big day on Monday.
Jose Cuervo teamed up with leading food economists to develop the Margarita Margherita pizza.
A spokesperson for the firm, said: “With lockdown seeing millions turn to takeaways and deliveries, We hope our Margarita Margherita will become the ‘pizza de resistance’ of lockdown meals for fans of bread, cheese, tomato and Mexican cocktails.”
The unique Margarita Margherita pizza recipe includes:
- A pizza dough fermented in Jose Cuervo tequila for over 24-hours
- A tomato sauce marinated in triple sec, salt, garlic and Jose Cuervo tequila
- A topping of Buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil leaves and grated parmesan
- A garnish of sea salt and fresh lime
Pizza firm Dough Man’s Land will freshly make and deliver the Margarita Margherita pizza to homes across Glasgow on National Margarita Day (February 22nd).
